Precision application

Last week I got some new brushes. Surprise surprise they are from Sigma.

A couple of weeks ago Sigma released their new collection of 4 precision brushes. These are pretty unique, and were a must purchase for me. The brushes included in the Precision kit are pretty much smaller versions of the Sigmax Kabuki brushes, including the new pointed tip brush.

P80 - Precision Flat
This is a small flat top brush, and is great for buffing concealer into small areas, and providing a flawless finish. This brush is great for cream and liquid product like concealer.

P82 - Precision round
This brush is pretty unique. It is designed to mimic finger tips in makeup application. The shape of this brush makes it ideal for applying products on and around the eyes. Eyeshadow bases and concealer apply well with this brush, and the shape makes it easy to get into tight corners other brushes might miss.

P84 - Precision Angled

This brush is great for contouring. It provides a sharp,  defined  look whilst still blending the product.  Works well with powder and cream products.  This brush can be used for larger areas such as contouring the cheek, but  also for more detailed work, it is ideal for contouring the nose, or highlighting the cheek and eye areas.

P86 - Precision Tapered

This tapered brush is perfect for getting into tiny detailed areas. This brush works well for concealer under the eye, as well as highlighting. I enjoy using this brush because it is something a little different. I also cant wait to try the F86, the corresponding kabuki brush in the Sigmax collection.


I have loved trying out these brushes and finding different uses for them. I don't however think they are all essentials. Depending on your usage of makeup depends on which brushes you might get. I would recommend all of them, and I do like a variety of brushes in my collection, but notice how many of the uses overlap.
Including shipping to the UK these cost me around £35 which I thought was a good deal. And with no import duty I was pretty pleased.Thank you, Sigma Beauty!

In the post...

Today I received some orders from overseas. I was pretty excited to hear the postman knock this morning, and I couldn't wait to rip open my packages. The first was my makeup palette from Sigma.

I chose the Flare palette.

It was much bigger and heavier than I thought, but is full of gorgeous colours and I have been playing around with looks all day.

The quality of the brushes is up to the usual Sigma standard, which I was expecting, but is not always the case with other brands. I would be happy to take this kit on my travels as several looks could be created from it.

The other thing I bought is a second Focco bag. This is basically a copy cat of the Alexander Wang bag, but this time in black. I got this from eBay and used this seller.

10 days later, my Cleanse and polishing tool from sigma has arrived...

So far I am pretty impressed, with everything from the quality of the changeable heads, to the ease of use. Just pop the batteries in (2xAA) and your away!

The device has 2 speed settings, and also comes with three different brush heads, with more to come hopefully!

Having used it for just 3 days I am loving how soft my skin is feeling, and cant wait to see improvements in texture. The only thing that is worrying me so far is when I do the cheekbone areas, I can see the delicate skin in the eye area moving.

Sigma purchase...

I have been eagerly awaiting the launch of the Cleansing and Polishing tool from Sigma since Simone announced it on twitter. Today was the release date, and I have been hanging around the Sigma site waiting to order it all day.

See how cute it looks!

I have wanted to try the Clarisonic for a long time, but put it off as soon as I heard about this product, and am so glad I did too at $39 it is such a bargain.
 Can't wait to test it out when it arrives.

Sigma Makeup Preview

It is fair to say I am a twitter addict! It is one of the best social networking tools out there, and I love to see brands using it well (internet geek). Simone, and Sigma are a great example of that, and since I woke this morning to see the sneak peak photos of the new products I have been full of excitment to try them.

Sigma are about 6-8 weeks from launching a new line of makeup. I never tried the old stuff, but I cannot wait to get my hands on this new line! I am a massive fan of Sigma brushes, which I use daily, so I am sure these products will be up to my high expectations.

There are 3 different sets, Bare, Dare, and Flare, and each contains a dual ended Sigma brush! So practical, and the products look so professional and well put together. Each one will retail for $35, and as Simone points out, that includes $18 worth of top quality Sigma brushes!

Sigma To Go

My beautiful travel size Sigma brushes just in time for me to take away to the wedding a few weeks ago! I loved testing these out on the go for real, and somehow managed to resist taking any other brushes.
I will keep this post  quick, I know you all know about Sigma... Pictures:

Thoughts?
The brushes are nice, as everyone says. I managed to have the right brushes for both me day and night look, although didn't have anything to apply my gel liner. I used the tip of the concealer brush which worked as an excellent substitute, but I must remember to add a thin brush for eyeliner next time I'm away.
Thankfully I didn't have to pay import tax/royal mail fees! I was worried about this!

I hated paying $14 for shipping, I wonder what it actually costs to post these out. I chose the standard shipping, because it was all quite expensive, and the site says to allow 14-21 days, however I received my order within 9 days from US to UK, and that included a UK bank holiday weekend! I thought that was amazing.
Overall, I wish I had the full kit now, and after not paying any customs fees, I can justify buying it.

I got these with $10 off, thanks to a link on the youtube page. If this offer wasn't on, I would go for one of the full sized kits. However, I didn't own a travel set, so I am very pleased with my purchase.

Today's the day...

I finally took the plunge, and purchased some Sigma Brushes. I am always wanting to expand my brush collection and have been mulching over which set of Sigma brushes to purchase. Today I saw they have $10 off their pink travel kit for youtube subscribers, and you also get a free eyeshadow. I decided that, for what would work out at about £30 including shipping, this would be a nice introduction to the Sigma collection. 
I am so excited to try these and can't wait for them to arrive in the post. I just selected standard international shipping, which was $14, and will take 2-3 weeks. I am quite impatient and want them now though.
